Equality Toledo is excited for the return of the “Hear Me Out” event at The Toledo Museum of Art. In conjunction with TMA, “Hear Me Out” will feature community members who will tell their stories next to a specific piece of artwork. The storytellers chose a work within the Museum that they connected with emotionally or relate to. Equality Toledo is happy to invite the Toledo community to listen to several personal stories from local LGBTQ members to improve understanding, awareness, and empathy in the community.
The group is going to meet at the Matisse mural (called Apollo). To get to Apollo:
-Enter the museum from Herrick Lobby (the Art Museum Drive/Grove Place side of the museum.) Check in at the Visitor Experience desk
-Head down the main hallway (you will pass bathrooms on either side of you) & go just past the staircases
-You should now be in front of a colorful ceramic tile mural – that’s Apollo!
