SUMMARY:2023 Transgender Day of Remembrance
DESCRIPTION:Handmade Toledo\nSunday\, November 19th\n3:00-4:30pm \nEvery year in November\, across the country\, transgender and gender-nonconforming communities come together to mourn those who have been taken from us due to anti-transgender violence. We have lost far too many people. We must find a way to come together\, pay our respects to those we have lost\, and reconnect with our community. Together\, we will find strength\, and together we will find peace. \nThis tradition began in 1998 with the murder of Rita Hester in Allston\, Massachusetts. Two decades later\, the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is honored worldwide. This is a day to remember the lives of the hundreds of transgender and gender-nonconforming people who died by violence over the past year. \nThe event will be held at The Handmade Toledo Event Space from 3:00-4:30pm. We will honor those we lost this year. We will also have various forms of interactive media to help uplift and remember those lost.
